Leading Citizen Participation in Local Government and the Community
Since 1988 MC² has had a significant profile in our communities and initiated activities and events relevant to the interests of our members and community at large.
DAY-TO-DAY WORK IS LED BY OUR BOARD, AND OUR COMMITTEES. THE FOCUS AND DIRECTION OF MC2 IS PRESENTED AT OUR ANNUAL MEETING, AND IS GUIDED BY OUR MEMBERS.

In election years, we work to inform members and residents on the major issues and to structure questions to identify candidate positions on these issues at all-candidates meetings. Post elections we attempt to hold Council members accountable for the commitments they have made.

We communicate with members via newsletters and e-blasts to keep them updated on current issues of interest and concern.

When significant development issues emerge, (aggregate mining proposals, changes to official plans or land-use.) we work with our local communities to gather information and develop responses.

We regularly attend Municipal and County Council meetings to stay informed and respond to local issues.

MC2 participates in community events, presents current topics of interest and works closely with other local community organizations that are faced with major issues and threats to their communities
